Women's Tennis Krasnopolsky Wins ITA West Regional

Pacific Palisades, Calif. - Boston College sophomore Lana Krasnopolsky defeated Cosmina Ciobanu - who will be attending the University of Notre Dame in the fall - 7-5, 6-2 in the championship match of the ITA Summer Circuit at the Riviera Tennis Club on August 1.
In a field of 40 players, Krasnopolsky did not drop a set the entire tournament, including the finals where she only lost a total of seven games. The ITA Collegiate Summer Circuit presented by the USTA was played at 23 regional sites throughout the country during the month of July. A record 2,624 players participated in 2006.
This past season Krasnopolsky led the team in wins compiling a combined record of 11-10 playing in the No. 2 and No. 3 singles positions in the Eagles first year in the ACC. She will look to build on her recent success as the Eagles enter their second year in conference play.
