Beekman Named To Rivals.com All-America First Team

Boston College senior OG Josh Beekman has been named to the Rivals.com Preseason All-America First Team. This marks the seventh year Rivals.com has named a preseason All-American Team.
Beekman has started all 24 games at right guard over the previous two seasons, during which time Boston College has averaged 142.6 yards rushing and 386.6 yards of offense per game. In its first year in the Atlantic Coast Conference last fall, BC led the league in total offense, averaging 387.8 yards per game. Beekman earned second-team All-ACC honors in 2005.
In addition to Beekman, the first-team offense consists of QB Brady Quinn, Notre Dame; RB Adrian Peterson, Oklahoma; RB Marshawn Lynch, California; WR Dwayne Jarrett, USC; WR Jeff Samardzija, Notre Dame; TE Zach Miller, Arizona State; OT Sam Baker, USC; OT Justin Blalock, Texas; OG Ben Grubbs, Auburn, and C Dan Mozes, West Virginia.
First-team defense includes DE Quentin Moses, Georgia; DE Gaines Adams, Clemson; DT Frank Okam, Texas; DT Jay Alford, Penn State; LB Paul Posluszny, Penn State; LB Patrick Willis, Ole Miss; LB Rufus Alexander, Oklahoma; CB Leon Hall, Michigan; CB Daymeion Hughes, California; S LaRon Landry, LSU, and S Brandon Meriweather, Miami.
First-team specialists include All-Purpose Ted Ginn, Ohio State; KR Steve Breaston, Michigan; PR Quinton Jones, Boise State; K Mason Crosby, Colorado, and P Ken Debauche, Wisconsin.
