Four Rowers Earn CRCA Scholar-Athlete Award Recognition

Juniors Claire Arpin, Emily Burke, Trisha Mack and Bridget Regan have earned Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) National Scholar-Athlete Award recognition for the 2006 season, according to an announcement made by the association.
In order to be eligible for a National Scholar-Athlete award, a student-athlete must be in her second, third or fourth year of eligibility, have competed in at least 75 percent of the season's races in the varsity boat and have a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA through the fall semester of the current season.
A total of 135 student-athletes from 50 schools were honored for their efforts during this past season. The New England region produced 23 selections among seven schools. Boston College and Brown tied for the second most award winners with four. Yale produced five scholar-athletes to lead the region.
The Boston College women's rowing team wrapped up its season competing in the Eastern Sprints on May 14. BC finished 13th in a field of 16 schools.
