Softball's Pandolfo Named to Academic All-District Team

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Softball's sophomore utility player Angela Pandolfo has been named to the 2006 ESPN The Magazine's Academic All-District Softball team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors Association. The Reading Mass., native was named to the District I second team.
Pandolfo has started 25 games this season and is averaging .243 at the plate - a career-high. The sophomore communications major has collected 13 runs on 18 hits and nine RBIs. In 28 games, Pandolfo has played in left field earning a 1.000 fielding percentage. She has also started as catcher in two games.
The Eagles face NC State on Thursday, May 11 at 3:00 p.m., in the first round of the ACC Tournament. The tournament is being held at the University of North Carolina's Anderson Stadium in Chapel Hill, N.C. The Eagles enter the contest with an overall record of 22-24 and 6-15 in ACC play. The No. 24 Wolfpack are 44-18 and 14-6 in the ACC. This is the Eagles 12th post season appearance since 1990 and first in the ACC.
