Men's Basketball Names Mo Cassara Assistant Coach

Mo Cassara, who served the last two years as head coach at Clark (Mass.) University, has been named assistant men's basketball coach at Boston College, according to an announcement made by head coach Al Skinner.
Cassara is best known to BC fans as the former head coach at Worcester (Mass.) Academy, where he coached Craig Smith during the 2001-02 season. The Hilltoppers won a school-record 27 games that season.
Prior to his two-year stint at Clark, Cassara served one season (2003-04) as assistant coach at the University of Dayton. The Flyers earned a 24-9 record in his one season, winning the Maui Invitational title and gaining a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
Cassara also served as a collegiate assistant coach at two other institutions - one year at Washington & Lee (1997-98) and one year at The Citadel (1998-99).
In his four seasons as head coach at Worcester Academy (1999-2003), Cassara had an 90-21 record. In 2002-03, he guided the Hilltoppers to their first NEPSAC Class A title in 16 years.
A 1997 graduate of St. Lawrence (N.Y.) University, Cassara played three seasons for the Saints, serving as the basketball team captain in his senior season.
A native of Canton, N.Y., Cassara earned his master's degree in high education and administration from Boston College in 2002.
