Softball Falls to Virginia Tech

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College softball team fell to Virginia Tech 7-6 and 6-0 on Sunday, April 2 at BC's Shea Field. The Eagles now stand at 12-15 and 1-8 in the ACC.
Ashley Obrest led the Eagles with three RBI in the first game. Obrest hit her first homerun of the season in the fourth inning, to put the Eagles on top 3-1. Kimmy Hopkin's single drove in Anne Filer and Angela Pandolfo drove in Britney Thompson. Amanda Booth scored on a wild pitch to round out the scoring for the Eagles.
Virginia Tech came back from the five run deficit in the sixth inning to tie the score. Charisse Mariconda's homerun in the seventh inning put the Hokies ahead.
In the second game, Angela Tincher recorded her 18th win of the season, pitching all seven innings.
Elena Ferrero led the Eagles with two hits on three at bats. Kristin Allain and Jenna Macchi led the Eagles with five assists. Ferrero's nine put outs led Boston College.
Boston College returns to action on Tuesday, April 4 when they travel to Harvard University for a doubleheader. Game times are set for 3:00 and 5:00 p.m.
