Women's Track and Field Races at Snowflake Classic

Boston, Mass. - The Boston College women's track and field team raced at the Snowflake Classic, hosted by Northeastern University at the Solomon Track at Dedham, Mass. Tiana Riel placed in three separate events for the Eagles.
Kate Guenette placed second in the 200 with a time of 28.01. Jillian Edmunds raced in the 400, crossing the line in 1:06.87. Edmunds finished in 22nd place.
In the 800, Lacey McKeon crossed the finish line in sixth place with a time of 2:29.76. Freshman Medena Knespl was the 23rd finisher. Knespl completed the 800 in 2:38.78. Knespl also competed in the 1500 finishing 11th overall with a time of 5:04.01.
Julia Stone and Courtney Reggo finished sixth and seventh in the 5,000. Stone finished in 19:54.54 and Reggo completed the race in 19:58.44.
Tiana Riel ran the 100 hurdles in 15.86 for second place. Riel also competed in the high jump, placing second with a leap of 5-01.75. Riel competed in the javelin, in her third event of the day. She finished 27th overall with a throw of 83-11.
Kara Musso competed in the 400 hurdles, finishing in 10th place overall in 1:12.21.
In the pole vault, Melanie Pearson recorded a mark of 9-06.00, while Ashley Thompson finished eighth in the long jump with a leap of 14-03.75. Thompson's mark of 31.09.25 in the triple jump placed her in sixth.
Jessica Fazeka's throw of 42-00.50 in the shot put was good for third place. Kendall Bourke and Chelsea Jones finished 14th and 15th in the same event. Jones threw the hammer 132-04.00 for sixth place, while Fazekas placed 10th.
Stephanie Ho placed fifth in the discus with a toss of 120-01.00.
The Eagles race again on April 1 at the SCSU Invitational in New Haven, Conn.
