Softball Splits with Florida State University

The Boston College softball team (9-11, 1-4 ACC), split their doubleheader with Florida State on March 25, in Tallahassee, Fla. In the first game, the Eagles won 7-5, then fell 8-0 in the second game.
The Eagles claimed their first conference victory, 7-5, in the opening game. Kristin Allain had three RBI and Ashley Obrest collected two, en route to the Eagles win.
Florida State went ahead in the first inning when Veronica Wootson doubled to left field and drove in Whitney Buckmon. They pulled away by three runs in the second inning with two more runs. Buckmon singled and drove in two runs.
Boston College pulled ahead in the third inning with four runs. Allain tripled through the ride side and drove in Angela Pandolfo and Carley McNary. Obrest's single down the left field line drove in Allain. Renee Ramos scored in the third as well to put the Eagles on top 4-3.
In the fifth inning Britney Thompson was walked, which drove in Ramos. Elena Ferrero scored for the Eagles as well. Allain collected her third RBI of the game with a single, driving in Anne Filer.
FSU scored in the bottom of the fifth inning when Yuruby Alicart singled up the middle to drive in Natasha Jacob. The Seminoles would scored one more run in the bottom of the seventh inning to make the final scored 7-5.
Britney Thompson pitched all seven innings, striking out one batter. She allowed five runs on 12 hits and improved her record to 5-3.
In the second game the Seminoles defeated Boston College, 8-0.
The Seminoles scored their first run in the second inning, three in the third, two runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth.
Savana Lloyd pitched 2.1 innings, striking out two batters and Amanda Klimczak struck out one batter.
The Eagles and Seminoles face each other again on Sunday, March 26 at 1:00 p.m.
