Raleigh, N.C. - NC State's Ashleigh Davis hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to lift the Wolfpack over Boston College in game one of a doubleheader in Raleigh, N.C.
It was a back-and-forth affair as the Wolfpack began the scoring with two runs in the bottom of the third. The Eagles came back in the top of the fourth with two of its own on an Elena Ferrero two-run home run.
After NC State grabbed another run in the bottom of the fourth, the Eagles took the lead in the top of the seventh on an Angela Pandolfo solo blast, and RBI double by Kristin Allain, but the Wolfpack sent it to extra innnings in the bottom of the inning on a Shanna Smith home run.
In the ninth, Pandolfo added her second RBI with a single, scoring Ashley Obrest. However, in the bottom of the inning, Smith hit a home run to right center to clinch the win for the Wolfpack.
The Eagles will play two more against NC State this weekend.
