Jared McGuire Named To 2007 Wallace Watch List

Lubbock, Texas - Senior outfielder Jared McGuire has been named to the 2007 Brooks Wallace Award Watch list, the College Baseball Foundation announced on Tuesday. The Brooks Wallace Award is presented annually to the top player in college baseball.
McGuire earned 2005 Conference Player of the Year honors as a sophomore and owns a .333 career batting average with nine home runs and 89 RBI. The Harwich, Mass., resident played in 57 games in 2005 and hit .381 with six home runs and 41 RBI. Last spring, he hit .264 with three home runs and 37 RBI.
Of 148 baseball student-athletes on the watch list, McGuire is one of 12 ACC student-athletes to be nominated and one of two players representing a New England School.
The Wallace Watch is dedicated to the memory of former Texas Tech shortstop and assistant coach Brooks Wallace.
