
Women's Cross Country Places 12th at Pre-Nationals

Terre Haute, Ind. - The Boston College women's cross country team finished 12th at the Pre-National Meet hosted by Indiana State University. The Eagles competed in the 6k meet against some of the best teams in the nation on Saturday morning. Boston College finished with 372 points, only 26 points away from finishing in the top ten. Stanford won the meet with 45 points, and was followed by Minnesota (200 points, Arizona State (224 points), Brigham Young (245 points) and Providence (247 points). Fellow Atlantic Coast Conference schools Florida State (268 points), Virginia (359 points) and Wake Forest (515 points), placed seventh, 11th and 20th, respectively.
Boston College was led by sophomore Nichole Lister, who placed 45th overall with a time of 21:03.5. Junior Nikki Tufts crossed next for the Eagles, placing 68th in the meet. Tufts finished the course in 21:19.8 Sophomore Mallory Champa, freshman Brielle Chabot and senior Kristen Coon rounded out the top five runners for Boston College. Champa crossed the line in 21:25.2, while Chabot and Coon finished in 21:37.2 and 21:38.4, respectively.
Boston College will look to continue its success on Sunday, October 22nd at Franklin Park when the Eagles partake in the Mayor's Cup. The race is schedule for 11:30 a.m.
