
Women's Cross Country Finished Seventh at ACC Championship

Charlottesville, Va. - The Boston College women's cross country team placed seventh at the ACC Championships in Charlottesville, Va. on Saturday. The Eagles finished with 150 points among their seven runners. NC State led the field with 59 points, while Duke (88 points), Virginia (104 points), Florida State (118 points) and Virginia Tech (123 points) rounded out the top five finishers at the meet. North Carolina finished in sixth with 138 points at the 6k event.
Boston College was led by sophomore Mallory Champa, who earned All-ACC honors with her 12th place finish at the championship. Champa crossed the line with a time of 21:37.7. Champa had previously been honored by the ACC this season, having been named Performer of the Week on October 9.
Fellow sophomore Nichole Lister placed 19th at the meet, crossing in 22:02.1, while freshman Brielle Chabot finished 33rd. Chabot had a time of 22:34.4. Senior Kristen Coon and junior Nikki Tufts were 37th and 50th, respectively, finishing with times of 22:39.8 and 23:11.0
Freshman Jessica Driscoll, and seniors Jessica Flinn and Kathleen Smyth rounded out the field for the Eagles. Driscoll crossed in 23:12.4, while Flinn and Smyth finished in 24:32.6 and 24:59.8.
Boston College women's cross country will next compete on Saturday, November 11 at the NCAA Regionals in Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, N.Y.
