Durham N.C. - Coming off of a 3-1 win at home, the Eagles traveled to North Carolina to take on the league's best and dropped a 3-0 decision to the Blue Devils of Duke University tonight. The win keeps Duke undefeated in conference play while the Eagles fall to 4-4.
After dropping game one 30-21, the Eagles hung tight with the Blue Devils in game two taking an early 12-9 lead. But, Duke would rally big winning nine out of the next 10 points to take an 18-13 lead. The Eagles would go on a rally of their own cutting the deficit to two, 20-18. The two teams would battle as their would be six tie scores and five lead changes but Duke would hold on for a pivotal game two win
Unfortunately, BC could not carry any momentum with them into game three as Duke got out to a big 15-3 lead and would not look back, completing the sweep with a 30-17 game three victory.
Three Blue Devils registered double-digits in kills with freshman Rachel Moss leading the way with 13 while also tallying 15 digs. Junior Carrie DeMange also played well registering 10 kills and 12 digs of her own.
The Eagles were led by senior Allison Anderson who added 27 digs to her league leading 323. BC is back in action Saturday, October 14 when they take on Wake Forest at 6:00 p.m. in Winston-Salem, N.C.
