Joe Pearce Earns Hockey East Defensive Player Of The Week

Boston College junior goaltender Joe Pearce earned Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week after making 53 saves in two games and leading BC to the 2005 Denver Cup title.
The Brick, N.J., resident went 1-0-1 and recorded a 1.92 goals against average and a .930 save percentage to earn tournament MVP honors.
Pearce registered 26 saves in a 3-3 first-round tie with Ferris State. He stopped three-of-five Bulldog opportunities in the shootout to help BC advance to the championship. There he recorded 27 saves in a 5-1 win over Princeton.
Pearce has played in seven career games and is 3-2-1 with a 2.73 GAA and a .893 save percentage.
Prior to the Denver Cup, he had seen all his action in the 2003-04 season, registering a 2-2-0 record and a 3.11 GAA. Pearce earned 2003 Great Lakes Invitational MVP honors in Detroit, posting victories over Michigan (34 saves in the first round) and Michigan State (15 saves in the championship game).
