Football Completes Preseason Scrimmage Slate

Quarterback Quinton Porter completed 19-of-26 passing attempts for 201 yards and one interception while wide receiver Will Blackmon caught four balls for 69 yards as Boston College completed its fourth and final intrasquad scrimmage on Wednesday at Alumni Stadium.
In the scrimmage's final series, Porter connected with tight end Chris Miller for a large gain on third-and-23 to keep the drive going and kick off a 15-play, 90-yard drive which culminated in a defensive stand on the goal line as time ran out.
Porter completed six-of-nine attempts - including three to Tony Gonzalez for 23 yards and two to Blackmon for 46 yards - in the that closing series.
Ray Henderson and Brian Toal led a strong defensive effort for the Eagles, registering six tackles apiece. Jeff Burns, Mathias Kiwanuka, and freshman Allan Smith each recorded one quarterback sack.
Ryan Purvis caught three passes for 47 yards and one touchdown - a 36-yard throw from Matt Ryan.
Ryan completed nine-of-16 attempts for 98 yards and one touchdown and one interception by Jamie Silva.
Andre Callender led BC's rushing attack with 51 yards on 16 carries. L.V. Whitworth carried 10 times for 19 yards.
Place kicker Ryan Ohliger connected on field goals from 36 and 43 yards.
BC will play its season-opening game at BYU on Saturday, Sept. 3 in Provo, Utah.
