Football Completes Third Preseason Tune-up

Quarterback Quinton Porter completed 11-of-16 passes for 176 yards and one touchdown and Matt Ryan completed 16-of-25 attempts for 156 yards to lead Boston College in the team's situational scrimmage at Alumni Stadium.
BC, which is ranked No. 22 in the Associated Press preseason poll released on Saturday, ran a total of 12 situational series on the Sunday night.
Wide receiver Will Blackmon led the Eagles' receivers, catching five balls for 95 yards. Kevin Challenger caught five passes for 71 yards while Larry Lester had one reception, a one-yard touchdown pass from Porter.
Running backs Andre Callender and A.J. Brooks each made their first appearance in preseason scrimmage play. Callender rushed seven times for 23 yards and one touchdown - a 15-yard run - to lead BC's running attack. Brooks carried the ball four times, collecting seven yards.
Place kicker Ryan Ohliger's lone field goal try of the day - a 48-yard attempt - was blocked and picked up by Jamie Silva on the 33-yard line and run in for a touchdown.
Defensively, Razzie Smith registered a scrimmage-high seven tackles, while Brian Toal and Kevin Akins each tallied six tackles.
Boston College will compete in its final scrimmage of the preseason on Wednesday.
