Football Tailgating Extended 30 Minutes

Boston College has announced several changes in its football tailgating procedures for all home games, according to Director of Athletics Gene DeFilippo.
Beginning this fall, the city of Boston will allow BC to open its campus parking lots two and one-half hours prior to kickoff. BC's old license allowed the school to open only two hours before kickoff.
Pedestrian access to Shea Field will be limited to a window beginning two hours prior to kickoff and lasting until 30 minutes before the kick. Pedestrians will not be allowed to enter Shea Field inside 30 minutes before kickoff. BC's license with the city of Boston requires it to clear all tailgating areas, including Shea Field, prior to kickoff. Game operations officials will, therefore, sweep the tailgating areas and ask fans to enter the stadium at that time.
The Eagles still have some additional parking and tailgating limitations for evening games. As the football television schedule and a complete list of kickoff times has not yet been announced, officials have asked fans to visit the Athletics Web site, www.bceagles.com, for the latest updates on kickoff times and any related parking or tailgating information.
"Everyone at BC Athletics has been working hard to improve the game-day experience for our players, coaches and fans," DeFilippo says. "When our players take the field on the road, the stadiums are full; we must make that happen at Alumni Stadium. We are asking all our fans to make a concerted effort to arrive at their seats at least 15 minutes prior to kickoff. If we all work together as a team, we can make Alumni Stadium one of the best home atmospheres in college football."
