The rowing team's second varsity eight claimed a gold medal at the Knecht Cup this weekend, finishing more than five seconds in front of the second-place crew from Kansas.
The Eagles had the third-place boats in the varsity four and second varsity four events.
The varsity eight finished a disappointing seventh despite having the third-best time out of all the boats in the race. The Eagles struggled in Saturday's semifinal race and didn't make the grand final on Sunday, making them ineligible to finish in the top six.
"We had a good weekend. We're still trying to achieve our initial goal of being one of the top three teams at the Big East Championships," said head coach Steve Fiske. "Based on our success, I think it's definitely a possibility. We'll need great races."
BC is seeded fourth in next weekend's Big East Championship behind Syracuse, Notre Dame and Rutgers.
