Steve Fiske was named Big East Coach of the Year after the women's rowing team earned a second-place finish at this weekend's conference championship.
The Eagles came in second in the second-varsity eight behind Notre Dame with a mark of 8 minutes, 35.90 seconds. BC edged Rutgers for third place in the varsity-eight final.
BC earned 92 total points en route to the best finish in school history. The Eagles finished third in 2002 and finished sixth last spring.
"We set a goal to finish in the top three in our last Big East Championship at the start of this year and it felt really good to achieve that goal," Fiske said. "After a disappointing team finish in 2004 it was great to leave the Big East with our best-ever team result."
Fiske is hoping the Eagles can carry their success into the final two meets of the season.
"This team has already achieved a lot and I'm really looking forward to both the ECAC/Metro race and Eastern Sprints," Fiske said.
