Lacrosse Downs Holy Cross, 19-5

Worcester, Mass. - Nine different players scored goals to lead the Boston College lacrosse team to a 19-5 win over Holy Cross on Wednesday night at the Hart Astroturf Field. Shauna Culhane netted a game-high four goals to help BC earn its seventh victory of the season.
BC (7-5) out-shot Holy Cross 23-10 in the first half.
The Eagles opened up the game with a goal at 1:30 into regulation. Jackie Yovankin tallied an unassisted goal and less than a minute later Carley St. Lucia connected on a free position shot to put BC up 2-0.
Holy Cross (9-7) cut BC's lead to one at 3:54. The Eagles responded with two consecutive goals when Susie Breaznell and St. Lucia scored back-to-back tallies.
At 24:27, Elizabeth Kadison sparked a run of six straight goals for the Eagles. Yovankin found the back of the net twice during the spurt, while Culhane notched three goals.
BC headed into the break with a 12-5 advantage.
In the second half, the Eagles out-shot the Crusaders, 17-6, giving BC a 40-16 edge on the night. Goalie Tara McKennett played the opening half and stopped one shot on goal.
The Eagles held Holy Cross scoreless in the second half. Goalie Courtney Zwirko made four saves in the final 30 minutes of play for BC.
Katherine Wagoner opened up the half with a goal at 33:47 off a pass from Courtney Legath. Legath dished out two assists during the game.
Breaznell added two goals during BC's 7-0 run in the second half, leaving her with three on the game. She leads the team with 33 goals on the season.
Lizette Blohm scored at 40:52, while Wagoner notched her second of the night at 42:03.
With five seconds remaining in regulation, Claire Bowersox netted her first goal of the season on a free position shot.
St. Lucia continued to dominate the draw controls for the Eagles. The senior won a game-high four draws. Catharine Saylor and St. Lucia picked up a team-high three groundballs a piece.
BC will travel to Hempstead, N.Y. to face Hofstra on Saturday, April 23. The action starts at 1 p.m.
