Boston College Coach Tom O'Brien announced Thursday that sophomore linebacker Brian Toal would miss Saturday's ACC game at Maryland due to a shoulder injury he suffered early in last week's home game against North Carolina State.
Toal is BC's third-leading tackler with 32 solos, 20 assists, 7.0 tackles-for-loss and 2 sacks and had started 18 straight games for the Eagles, dating back to the 2004 season. He will be replaced in the starting lineup by sophomore Jolonn Dunbar.
Saturday marks the regular-season finale for the Eagles, who head to College Park with a 7-3 record (4-3 in the ACC) and ranked 23rd in both polls.
