Junior forward Jared Dudley registered 26 points and 19 rebounds - both game highs - and senior Craig Smith notched 14 points and 12 rebounds to lead 11th-ranked Boston College to a 102-62 exhibition victory over St. Michael's (Vt.) College in Conte Forum.
Dudley shot 11-for-16 from the field, including 2-for-3 from three-point range. He was also 2-for-3 from the foul line. The junior forward posted 14 points and 14 rebounds before halftime.
Junior swingman Sean Marshall and freshman guard Tyrese Rice each scored 16 points, while sophomore center John Oates rounded out the list of double-figure scorers with 10 points. Rice, who saw 16 minutes of action, hit a team-high four three-point field goals.
Senior guard Louis Hinnant contributed five points and a game-high 10 assists in 27 minutes.
The Eagles never trailed, netting the game's first six points on field goals from Oates, Hinnant and Smith. After St. Michael's hit two early three-pointers to keep the margin in single-digits, BC used a 6-0 run to gain a 22-9 advantage. Dudley converted two offensive rebounds and Marshall added a dunk in this stretch.
Later in the half, the home team used two 7-0 rallies to assume a 45-23 halftime lead. Freshman Marquez Haynes capped the first of these two runs with a dunk to give the Eagles a 33-14 margin. A Marshall trey and a Smith slam keyed the second rally.
Game Notes: All 10 BC players who saw game action scored. Haynes finished with seven points; freshman Evan Neisler scored four; and seniors Ted Dunlap and Tyler Neville each contributed one field goal ... Sophomore forward Akida McLain did not play. McLain has been suspended indefinitely from the team for a violation of team rules ... BC shot 50.6 percent from the floor ... BC opens its regular-season slate on Friday, Nov. 18 against Dartmouth.
