
Women's Cross Country Captures NCAA Northeast Region Championship

Boston, Mass. - The women's cross country team captured first place at the NCAA Northeast Region Championship, run at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. Seniors Maria Cicero and Laurel Burdick finished ninth and tenth overall to pace the Eagles to a first place victory.
Three-time All-American Cicero, crossed the line in 21 minutes, 00.5 seconds to place ninth overall, while Burdick finished in 21:08.5 to finish 10th.
Freshman Mallory Champa had a strong finish placing 13th overall with a time of 21:13.9. Senior Anne Hessberg came in 26th overall, finishing in 21:44.4. Freshman Nichole Lister finished in 21:49.5, for 29th overall.
Rounding out the field for the Eagles were sophomore Nikki Tufts and senior Kristen Coon, finishing 77th and 99th respectively.
The Eagles competed against 254 runners and 38 teams.
