Florida State Takes Close Match from Eagles

Tallahassee, Fla. - The Florida State Seminoles topped the Eagles in a marathon five-game match, 30-17, 27-30, 30-23, 30-32, and 15-7. The Seminoles are now 4-8 in conference actions while the Eagles fall to 1-12.
Junior middle blocker, Morgan Woodcock led the team with 10 kills and five blocks. Woodcock also contributed eight digs and one served ace.
Senior co-captain Verena Rost had a match-high 35 assists. Rost also put down three kills and came up with 11 digs.
Junior libero co-captain Allison Anderson led the team in digs with 22 total digs for the match. Anderson also had two served aces and two assists for the night.
Second in kills for the match were sophomore Kelsey Johnson and Junior Alison Shepp with nine kills a piece. Johnson also had one served ace, two blocks and 16 digs.
Leading the team in attack percentage was senior Emily Stegner. Stegner had two kills but put up an impressive .667 attack percentage.
After dropping the first game of the match to the `Noles, 30-17 the Eagles came back and captured game two, 30-27. Florida State answered right back and took game three 30-23. BC would not be taken so easily and came back to force a game five after going on a 4-0 run in game four to take the game, 32-30. Florida State took game five and the match with a score of 15-7 in final game.
The Eagles look to bounce back in league play as they take on Miami on Oct. 30.
