Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College men's soccer team fell 4-0 to eighth-ranked Maryland in a steady rain storm at Newton Campus Soccer Field.
The Terrapins jumped on the board in the 33rd minute when Maurice Edu won a header at midfield and fed the ACC league-leader in goals, Jason Garey for his 15th of the season.
The Eagles challenged the Terps after the first goal, but were unable to connect on their chances. Edu broke through for Maryland in the second half when he drove a blast into the upper left corner from 20 yards out.
The Terps added two late goals on penalty kicks to make the final 4-0.
Freshmen Mike Konicoff and Ryan Sherman played well for the Eagles, recording two shots each.
The Eagles will host Maine at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
