Football Tops Big East In Final Football Polls

The Boston College football team is ranked 21st in the final Associated Press and ESPN/USA Today polls. BC was the only Big East team ranked in the final Top 25 in the ESPN/USA Today poll; Pittsburgh is ranked 25th in the final AP poll.
The Eagles completed a 9-3 season last Thursday with a 37-24 win over North Carolina in the Continental Tire Bowl in Charlotte, BC's fifth consecutive bowl game win. BC is the only team in America to have won a bowl game the past five years in a row.
The 2004 team finished with the highest ranking since the 1993 team finished 13th in the AP poll and 12th in the CNN/USA Today poll. The 2001 Eagles finished 23rd in the AP poll and 21st in the ESPN/USA Today poll.
