After leading Boston College to a 2-0 start this past week, freshman forward Charlie Davies (Manchester, N.H.) and sophomore goalkeeper Issey Maholo (Tokyo, Japan) were recognized for their accomplishments.
Davies was named BIG EAST Rookie of the Week for his performance in victories over #21 Brown and Cal State-Northridge. The freshman scored the first goal of the season for Boston College in the first half of play versus Brown on Friday afternoon. He then scored the game-winner in a 1-0 shutout victory on Sunday afternoon against Northridge. Davies currently leads the Eagles in points, goals and shots.
Maholo earned conference Goalkeeper of the Week accolades for his 13 saves in the Eagles' two victories, including six in the shutout win over Northridge. The goalie notched his first seven saves in BC's 3-1 victory over Brown. Maholo won several loose balls in both games preventing either team from taking shots on goal.
The Eagles return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Syracuse at 1 p.m. in the SU Soccer Stadium.
