The Boston College men's golf team finished fourth place in the Central Connecticut State University Invitational this weekend. This is an improvement from last weekend's Mid Pines Intercollegiate in which the Eagle's finished 15th.
The tournament in New Britain had to be pushed back due to rainy conditions on Saturday. Therefore, instead of playing the standard 36 holes on two days, the invitational was shortened to a 27-hole event that took place on Sunday.
Tim Connors was BC's top finisher for the second straight tournament. His first 18 holes saw him shoot one over par. This score was two strokes off of leader Pat Beverly of Army (who ended up winning the tournament).
The nine-hole conclusion was not as stellar for Connors, who posted a plus-4 40. He finished fifth overall. Alex Snickenberger also finished tied for fifth place with Connors, posting the same numbers as Connors.
Kyle Kelly finished the tournament in 13th position. He shot a 76 and a 39 for a combined 115, coming in seven strokes back from the leader.
Men's golf will hit the course again this Friday and Saturday in Bethpage, NY for the McLaughlin Cup. The Eagles hope to build on the momentum acquired as a result of this fourth place finish.
