Boston College right-handed pitcher Chris Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) earned BIG EAST co-Pitcher of the Week honors in an announcement made by the conference, Monday, May 17. This distinction marks the fifth time an Eagle has been recognized by the league this season and Lambert's second award in two weeks.
Chris Lambert tossed a complete-game, 7.0-inning shutout for the second consecutive week, this time leading the Eagles to the 3-0 victory over Virginia Tech on Sunday, May 16. The righty surrendered only three hits and two walks, while striking out five to improve his BC career record strikeout total to 262 in his fifth complete game of the season. The junior has not allowed a run in the last 14.0 innings pitched and leads all BIG EAST pitchers with a .198 opponent batting average. He owns a 3.22 ERA for all games pitched and a 4.14 ERA in the BIG EAST.
Boston College has won 14 of its last 17 games, including six straight conference decisions, to improve to 28-22 overall, and their 14-7 count places them third in the league. The Eagles host Rhode Island at noon on Wednesday, May 19 before taking on Maine at 3:30 p.m. the same day.
