CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Carley St. Lucia (Delmar, N.Y.) scored two first-half goals and Susie Breaznell (Delmar, N.Y.) added one goal and one assist to lead Boston College in a 9-4 conference loss to Connecticut Wednesday evening at Alumni Stadium.
Justine Burr (Northport, N.Y.) recorded her seventh goal and Brennan Joyce (Rye, N.Y.) tallied the assist to round out the scorers for Boston College.
Connecticut (4-7, 1-2) tallied five unanswered goals, including two from Shannon Burke, and the Eagles fell behind 5-0 to start the match.
However, two goals less than 30 seconds apart from St. Lucia combined with Breaznell's team-leading 22nd goal of the year and Burr's tally one minute later sparked a 4-1 Boston College run that cut the visiting Huskies advantage to 6-4 with 22:33 left to play.
But UConn went on to score the game's final three goals to thwart the BC comeback.
Tara McKennett (Garden City, N.Y.) recorded 10 saves in the losing effort for the Eagles. She falls to 4-5 overall.
Boston College travels to Washington, DC to play Georgetown in its third-straight conference match on Saturday. The Eagles' next home game is Friday, April 16 at 7:00 p.m. against Rutgers.
