Women's Golf Finishes Second At Ninth Lady Eagle Invitational

South Sandwich, Mass. - Freshman Jessica Steward posted a 78-82-160 to finish tied for fourth as BC placed second in the 12-team field at the Ninth Lady Eagle Invitational at the Ridge Club in South Sandwich, Mass. Kori Goulet (82-79) and Alison Walshe (85-76) each posted a score of 161 to tie for sixth place. Georgetown won the event behind the performance of individual winner Christy Larrimore, who finished eight shots ahead of the pack with a 76-73-149.
Elizabeth Callery's 81-85-166 was good for a tie for 16th place and Elizabeth Friel posted a 92-78-170 to tie for 25th overall in the field of 68 players. Competing as individuals were Tiffany Wernig (89-82-171), Kerry Whalen (84-88-172) and Moira O'Connell (93-86-179).
The second-place finish was BC's third in the last four tournaments. The Eagles will travel to West Hartford, Conn. on April 12-13 to compete in the Hartford Invitational.
