Jennifer Kramer Captures 5000-Meter Crown At Mt. SAC Relays

WALNUT, Calif. - Senior Jennifer Kramer (Loundonville, N.Y.) smashed the all-time school record and captured first place in the 5000-meter run with a time of 15:47.83 while senior Jennifer Donovan (Melville, N.Y.) established the second-best mark - 16.29.97 - in BC history also in the 5000 and placed 13th to lead Boston College competitors at the Mt. San Antonio Community College Relays at Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Walnut, Calif. this weekend.
Kramer, Donovan and sophomore Laurel Burdick (Manlius, N.Y.) all achieved NCAA Regional Qualifying status for their performances in the 5000-meter run. Burdick placed 24th in that event with her time of 16:52.12.
In the 800-meter run, junior Melissa Sherman (Dennis, Mass.) qualified for BIG EAST Championship competition with her time of 2:11.02. She earned first place in her section while freshman Kathleen Smyth (Salt Lake City, Utah) placed fifth in the 800-meter run clocking 2:13.40.
