The Boston College men and women's fencing teams finished their second match in two days against some of the country's best. The men's squad preserved their undefeated streak over Yeshiva with a 24-3 win, but the Eagles fell victim to: no. 7 Pennsylvania (20-7), third-ranked Penn State (23-4) and North Carolina (19-8), which is receiving votes in the latest (Jan. 21) NCAA poll.
Also at Brandeis, the women's team closest competition came in the Cornell match up as the Eagles fell on the short side of the 15-12 mark. Third-ranked Penn State defeated BC (23-4), and no. 8 Pennsylvania won 20-7. North Carolina, which is also receiving votes in the NCAA poll, earned the 17-10 victory over BC.

The women's squad entered the final round of competition with Cornell, trailing by one bout but was only able to win four of the final nine individual bouts. Tiffany White (Irvington, NJ) concluded the day with a 7-5 record in the epee division, highlighted by a 3-0 effort against Pennsylvania.
