Men's Soccer Players Receive Academic Awards

For the third consecutive year, Boston College men's soccer co-captain Guy Melamed has received Verizon/CoSIDA Academic All-District honors. Melamed was named to the district's first team, making him eligible for the national All-America ballot.
The accounting major is a three-time Big East Academic All-Star. Melamed has started all 74 games in his BC career and currently has one goal and four assists.
Junior forward Uri Magen-David received All-District second-team honors for his outstanding performances on the field and in the classroom. Magen-David, a finance and accounting double-major, has played in 14 games this season, tallying two goals and two assists. He is a two-time BIG EAST Academic All-Star.
Melamed, Magen-David and the eighth-ranked Eagles (12-3-2) will host the University of Connecticut in a Big East Tournament quarterfinal match on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Newton Campus Soccer Field.
