The Boston College baseball team's Diamond Club will hold its 13th annual "Baseball Night in Boston" on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004. The event will be held at the prestigious .406 Club (formerly the 600 Club) at Fenway Park, beginning at 6 p.m. Special guest Jerry Remy will be in attendance and will be honored at the dinner.
The annual Baseball Night event will benefit both the Kids on Campus program, a social service project that utilizes college student-athletes to provide educational and recreational opportunities to children in the city of Boston, and the Boston College baseball program.
Remy has been a Red Sox color commentator since 1988. Before his time in the booth, he played second base for the Sox from 1978-84 and was popular for his gritty style of play. Remy played 10 seasons in the major leagues, compiling over 1,200 hits in 1,154 games. During his years in the broadcast booth, he has become known as the "RemDawg" by fans all across Red Sox Nation.
