Sophomore forward Jared Dudley registered 26 points and eight rebounds - both game highs - to lead Boston College to a 67-59 exhibition victory over Carleton (Ontario) University in Conte Forum.
Dudley shot 10-for-15 from the field, including 2-for-3 from three-point range. He was 4-for-4 from the foul line.
Classmate Steve Hailey was the only other Eagle to score in double figures, finishing with 13 points. Hailey also added four assists and three rebounds.
Boston College trailed 30-27 at halftime and by as many as six points (43-37) early in the second half, before rallying for the victory. Carleton hit six three-pointers in the first 20 minutes and shot 45.8 percent from the field to gain the halftime advantage. The Ravens used a 13-10 run in the first six minutes of the second half to extend the margin to six points.
BC then held the Ravens without a field goal for the next 6:30 to take control. Led by five points from Dudley, the Eagles scored 16 points while limiting Carleton to just two free throws to gain a 53-45 margin with 6:50 to play. The visitors never got closer than five points the rest of the way.
Carleton junior guard Osvaldo Jeanty hit seven three-pointers to record a team-high 23 points.
Game Notes: Junior forward Craig Smith, hampered by a thumb injury, finished with four points and six rebounds in 24 minutes ... Freshman forward Sean Williams blocked four shots ... BC gained a 43-30 rebounding edge ... Freshman forward Gordon Watt contributed eight points and some intense defense in 11 minutes of work ... BC shot 4-for-16 from long range, while Carleton shot 13-for-30 from behind the arc ... After shooting just 37.9 percent from the field in the first half, BC shot 53.8 percent in the final 20 minutes ... Senior Jermaine Watson did not play because of a violation of team rules ...
