Women's Basketball Falls At Notre Dame, 52-50

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Junior Jessalyn Deveny (Westford, Mass.) tallied her second double-double of the season -- 13 points, 12 rebounds -- and freshman center Kathrin Ress (Salorno, Italy) finished with 14 points and nine boards to lead Boston College in a 52-50 BIG EAST loss to Notre Dame in front of 6,808 fans at the Joyce Center in South Bend, Ind.
Boston College (14-5, 4-4) had its chances as senior Amber Jacobs (Clarks Summit, Pa.) missed two potential game-winning three-pointers in the closing seconds of the game. The Eagles shot 40 percent from the field on the day while Notre Dame shot 33.3 percent.
Ress went 5-for-5 from the floor and hit 4-of-6 free throws to help the Eagles' bench outscore Notre Dame's bench, 25-16.
Host Notre Dame (13-7, 6-2) improves to a perfect 9-0 in the Joyce Center. The Irish were led by sophomore guard Megan Duffy who scored 16 points and senior guard LeTania Severe who chipped in with 15.
Boston College turned the ball over 23 times, eight more than Notre Dame.
The Eagles are back in action on Thursday, Feb. 5 when they host Pittsburgh in Conte Forum. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
