Men's Golf Places Sixth At The McLaughlin Cup

Bethpage, N.Y. - The Boston College men's golf team finished sixth out of 13 teams at this weekend's McLaughlin Cup at the Red Course at Bethpage, New York. The Eagles finished with a team score of 284-281-297 - 862. Maryland won the event with an aggregate score of 837. The individual medalist was Maryland's Dan McDonald, who finished with a seven-under 203.
Eagle freshman Jim Roney was BC's top finisher, posting a three-over 213, good enough for a tie for tenth. Junior Tim Connors was one shot behind at 214, finishing in a tie for 13th. Rounding out the scorers for Boston College were Matt King (216, T-22nd), Kyle Kelly (225, T-48th) and Tim Holden (225, T-48th).
The Eagles will return to action next weekend as they travel to West Point to participate in the U.S. Military Academy Invitational.
