CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The BIG EAST conference announced on Monday that two Boston College soccer players earned weekly recognition for their performances last week. For the women, sophomore Katie McGregor (Simsbury/Simsbury, Conn.) earned Offensive Player of the Week recognition while freshman Jarryd Goldberg (Ridge/Basking Ridge, N.J.) was one of three Rookies of the Week for the men.
McGregor scored two goals in two games for the Eagles. She notched one score in BC's 10-1 victory over Holy Cross and also tallied the game-winner as the Eagles downed No. 18 Villanova, 1-0.
Goldberg tallied the game-winner and first career goal as the Eagles defeated BIG EAST rival Georgetown, 1-0. He shares the award with freshmen Ashley Kozicki of St. John's and Sacha Kljestan of Seton Hall. All three players tallied game-winning goals, leading their teams to conference victories.
Both Boston College soccer teams are back in conference action this Wednesday. The women's team travels to Providence, R.I. to take on the Friars at 4 p.m. while the men visit Storrs, Conn. and Morrone Stadium to face-off against the Huskies at 7 p.m.
