Heading down the home stretch of preseason camp, the Boston College football team practiced for approximately two hours Monday afternoon on the grass. Tuesday marks the last double-session day for camp; the team will practice once in the morning and again at 6 p.m.
The team will conduct its third and final intrasquad scrimmage at 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. Coach Tom O'Brien seemed pleased with the effort from Sunday evening's scrimmage.
"It seemed like it was a much more physical scrimmage, a lot more intensity," he said. "I think the change in the weather, the cool night, helped them. We tried to create some things in more game-like situations for the young kids. I think it's important to do that now and do it again."
The team begins normal game-week preparations on Sunday, August 24. Six days later, the Eagles open the 2003 season at 1 p.m. vs. Wake Forest in Alumni Stadium.
