PAWTUCKET, R.I. - Sophomore pitcher Kevin Shepard (Andover, Mass.) and sophomore rightfielder Drew Locke (Weymouth, Mass.) played today, Friday, May 30, for the University Division squad in the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) All-Star Game at McCoy Stadium.
The game was originally scheduled for yesterday, Thursday, May 29, at Fenway Park, but was changed due to bad weather.
Shepard came into the game in the fourth and silenced the College Division bats for the next three innings, allowing just three hits and two walks while striking out two. Locke collected one hit, an infield single in the seventh, in four trips to the plate.
The College Division scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth to defeat the University Division, 5-3.
