Providence, R.I. - Boston College senior pitcher Kim Ryan (Bay Shore, N.Y.) was named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week on April 21. It is the third time this season, and twice in the last two weeks, that Ryan earned the conference honor.
Ryan made four appearances on the mound this past week, collecting a 3-0 record and pitching her first career perfect game. In four games, she pitched 16.2 innings, struck out 35, allowed one hit, walked nobody, and did not allow a run. She pitched two shutouts and helped BC to a 9-0 win at Central Connecticut and two BIG EAST wins over Connecticut (2-1 in nine innings and 3-0). She improved her record to 11-3 on the season.
The Eagles are currently 22-14 overall and 9-1 in the BIG EAST, good for second place in the conference behind undefeated Notre Dame (10-0).
This week, the Eagles travel to Holy Cross on April 22 in a non-conference doubleheader. The team will then travel to Boston University in a single game make-up Thursday at 3:30 p.m. The Eagles will return to Shea Field Saturday, April 26 to host Notre Dame in a BIG EAST doubleheader that begins at 12:00 p.m. The Eagles will also host Syracuse Sunday, April 27 in a 12:00 p.m. doubleheader.
