Spolidoro Finishes 11th in 5,000 at NCAA Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Senior Julie Spolidoro (Duxbury, Mass.) placed 11th out of 16 in the 5,000-meter run Friday, March 14 at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, held at the Randal Tyson Track Complex on the campus of the University of Arkansas.
Spolidoro crossed the finish line in 16:15.00.
Coming into the event as the third seed courtesy of her school-record clocking of 16:02.99, Spolidoro came up short in her attempt to join Shannon Smith '01 as Boston College's only women's track athletes to be crowned national champion. Smith won the 3,000 in 2001.
Spolidoro returns to the track Saturday, March 15 to compete in the 3,000. That race gets underway at 7:25 p.m.
