Malandris Named To All-Tournament Team

Tekae Malandris pitched BC to two wins in Hawaii's Malihini Tournament over spring break.

HONOLULU, Hi. - Junior pitcher Tekae Malandris (Chula Vista, Calif.) was named to the 2003 Malihini Tournament All-Tournament team, as announced recently by the University of Hawaii.

Malandris made four appearances on the mound for the Eagles while in Hawaii. She pitched 17 innings and collected a record of 2-0. Among her victories was an eight-inning complete game 3-0 shutout of Buffalo. One game prior, she pitched 3.2 innings of relief to power BC to a 2-1 win over UC-Riverside.

Over the week, Malandris collected 28 strikeouts while walking three and allowing six hits. She did not allow a run in 17 innings pitched.

Malandris is currently 3-4 on the season, having made 13 appearances. In 53.0 innings pitched, she has a 1.98 ERA with 77 strikeouts. Opposing batters are hitting .174 against her.
