Jim Bridge, offensive line coach last season at Eastern Michigan University and a former offensive line assistant at The Ohio State University, has been named assistant football coach at Boston College, head coach Tom O'Brien announced. Bridge will coach BC's tight ends, replacing Don Horton, who was named offensive line coach following the departure of Dave Magazu to the Carolina Panthers.
"We are very pleased that Jim has agreed to join our staff," O'Brien says. "He comes to Boston College with outstanding credentials. We know he will do a great job coaching our tight ends."
In addition to serving as offensive line coach at Eastern Michigan (2002) and offensive line assistant at Ohio State (2001), Bridge served as tight ends and offensive line coach at Bowling Green State University (2000) and as recruiting coordinator and offensive line coach for The Citadel (1996-99).
"I'm truly excited to be at Boston College," Bridge says. "It's great opportunity to be associated with such a quality institution. Tom O'Brien has built an outstanding football program, and I look forward to being a part of his staff."
Bridge is a 1992 graduate of Wittenberg University and received a Master's Degree from Bowling Green State University in 1994, where he served as a graduate assistant during the 1992 and '93 seasons. He also served as a graduate assistant at the University of Virginia during the 1994 and '95 seasons.
