Fencing Closes First Home Competition

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College hosted their first invitational fencing meet this weekend. Syd Fadner's team welcomed Vassar,Brown, Brandeis, MIT and St. John's to the Flynn Recreational Complex.
On the women's side, Tiffany White was 11-4 in epee as the epee squad went undefeated. The Eagles went 5-4 against Brandeis, MIT and Brown. They closed out at 6-3 against St. John's, and 8-1 against Vassar. Clara Yum and Genevieve Peeples each went 9-6 in their first appearance as a freshman epee starter for BC.
The men took two of their five competitions. Senior Paul Taylor went 11-4 in foil. The physics/classics major had just returned from Chicago after being named the first ever Rhodes Scholar from Boston College. Steve Koza went 10-5 in sabre for the Eagles.
The Eagles will not return to action until late January.
