Sophomore forward Craig Smith registered 25 points and 13 rebounds -- both team highs -- as Boston College earned an 82-64 exhibition victory over the Howard Pulley Panthers, a Minnesota-based all-star team.
Smith shot 12-for-15 from the floor. He also recorded four steals.
Junior guard Jermaine Watson played a productive 21 minutes off the bench. He finished with 19 points, four rebounds and two assists.
Senior Uka Agbai contributed 10 points and seven rebounds, while freshman Devon Evertsen hit three three-pointers in a 10-point effort.
The Panthers shot 48.3 percent from the floor in the first half and trailed by just five points -- 39-34 -- at the intermission. BC outscored the visitors 43-30 in the second half, limiting the Panthers to just 32.4 percent shooting.
Game Notes: For the second straight game, the starting five were Smith, Jared Dudley, Agbai, Louis Hinnant and Johnnie Jackson ... Freshman guard Steve Hailey sat out the game with a bruised right thigh ... Junior center Nate Doornekamp returned to the line-up and contributed six points and four rebounds in 15 minutes ... Hinnant handed out a game-high nine assists in 27 minutes ... Evertsen hit back-to-back three-point field goals at 9:21 and 8:51 of the second half to key a 12-0 BC run that extended the Eagles' lead to 15 points (64-49) ... BC outrebounded the Panthers, 52-28 ... BC returns to action on Saturday, November 22 against Appalachian State in the first round of the 2003 Paradise Jam (St. Thomas, Virgin Islands).
