Women's Hockey Tops Quinnipiac to Complete Season Sweep

HAMDEN, Conn. -- The Boston College women's hockey team won its second consecutive game over Quinnipiac University, by a score of 2-1, on Saturday evening to complete the season sweep of the Bobcats.
Kerri Sanders opened the scoring in the first period, collecting her seventh goal of the year. Freshmen Kristin Blundo and Jill McInnis were credited with the assists. For McInnis, the assist was her team-leading 12th of the season.
Offensive power Alaina Clark, who also scored one against the Bobcats Friday evening, tallied her 11th of the 2002-03 campaign to put the Eagles up, 2-0, at 3:53 in the third.
Quinnipiac tried to come back, getting a goal from Kathryn Dallimore at 17:10 in the third, but they could not knot the score, even with an extra skater at the end of regulation.
Lisa Davis made 18 saves en route to the victory, while Quinnipiac's Catherine Lapare had 19.
The win brings the Eagles to 9-11-3 on the year, while the Bobcats fell to 4-18.
Boston College returns to Kelley Rink on Tuesday, Jan. 25 when it will face No. 1 Harvard University at 7 p.m.
