Women's Hockey Falls to No. 9 Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Boston College women's hockey team (7-10-3, 0-5-3 HOCKEY EAST) was defeated by No. 9 Providence College on Saturday by a score of 7-1.
The Friars scored two power-play goals in the first period to pull ahead of the Eagles early on. Lindsey Bazzone got the Eagles on the board at 6:01 of the second, but the host Friars answered with four tallies before the close of the session, and added another in the third period.
Jenn Butsch and Rush Zimmerman led the Friar offense with two goals each. Alison Quandt made 30 saves for Boston College in the loss. Teammate Lisa Davis finished the contest in the Eagle net, recording 11 saves.
Boston College will return to Kelley Rink for a 7 p.m. clash with Northeastern on Tuesday, Jan. 21.
