With only 13 days remaining before the Aug. 31 season opener vs. Connecticut, the Boston College football Eagles tuned up with a 113-play scrimmage Sunday at a sweltering Alumni Stadium.
Senior quarterback Brian St. Pierre (Danvers, MA) completed 10 of 20 passes for 118 yards, while sophomore Quinton Porter (Portland, ME) went 12-18 for 112 yards and a touchdown. Three other quarterbacks - sophomore Eric Boatwright (Brockton, MA), freshman Karim El Nokali (Pittsburgh, PA) and freshman walk-on Dan Berglund (Shorewood, MN) - took snaps for the Eagles.
Senior Jamal Burke (Brockton, MA) led all receivers with five catches for 123 yards.
Junior running back Horace Dodd (Hamden, CT), a transfer from Penn State, led all running backs with 60 rushing yards on 15 attempts. Sophomore Brandon Brokaw (Morrisville, PA) rushed 11 times for 45 yards and had the longest run from scrimmage of the day, a 25-yarder. Junior Derrick Knight (Westwood, MA) carried the ball seven times for nine yards.
The Eagles will scrimmage once more, on Thursday, before heading into their normal game-week preparations.
